The storyline has promise: Graves must save her kidnapped husband from terrorists while navigating a global cyber conspiracy. However, despite the high stakes, the film’s potential is diluted by overused action tropes and predictable twists, which fail to provide the emotional impact or originality that the plot could have offered. Morel, known for *Taken*, seems to strive for the same gritty intensity here, and while the direction gives us fast-paced, well-executed action scenes, the movie feels like a rehash of familiar espionage setups. The script is packed with scenarios we've seen many times in the genre, with no fresh perspective or suspenseful buildup to keep the audience engaged. This leaves the film feeling more like a checklist of action sequences than a compelling narrative, sacrificing the tension and suspense that would elevate the story. Beckinsale, in impressive physical form at 50, delivers a solid performance as the determined agent, but the character is boxed into repetitive action scenes and generic dialogue that leave little room for emotional growth. Avery’s relationship with her kidnapped husband, intended to be a driving emotional force, is barely developed, which weakens the impact of her motivations and makes it harder for audiences to truly connect with her struggles.
